First, by osmosis. Though it is hard to find, and we do nothing to promote it, people do somehow manage to discover Yellow. When either of us come across people who are good candidates we invite them to join, and if they say yes, add them to the list.

Another way in will be through events. For example, via 3D. In 2024 we had three new people for whom 3D Yellow was their first ever experience, and it worked well (for them and for us). So we know that 3D can act as a ‘gateway’. In this case, we met with them on-line before they came, as we did in the past for people joining the groups. Once they have attended, those people become part of Yellow.

That won’t be the only way though. Any event we do could be an entry point. It would need to be an event designed (mostly) for Yellow people so that they can get a taste of Yellow and we can get a sense of them. If there is a good fit, they would be invited in.

Other Yellow members may suggest people too, and the best way to do that is to invite them to come to an event. That gives these new people a taste of Yellow and enables us to get a sense of them. Anyone in Yellow can invite new people to events, and we would encourage you to do so. Following that they may join Yellow on an ongoing basis, or it may end there (depending on whether both they, and we, regard it as a good fit).

What won’t work for recruitment is yellowish events. New people will come to those, but it won’t give them enough of an experience of what Yellow is like – either for them, or for us for them to join immediately.
