All of this means a new role for Alex and Rob.

We will no longer both be present at everything, though it is likely that one or other of us will be at anything Yellow does. But even if neither of us were there, one or other (or both) will have been involved in the design and development of the ideas. If not, then there is no sense at all in which a given project is even yellowish, let alone Yellow. So Alex and Rob are still central to Yellow, even if we are now holding it more loosely.

This is challenging for us. We don’t know what will be asked of us, how much time or energy it will require and what we might get in return (financially or otherwise). This may introduce some tension – we may organise events that work well for participants, but which, over time, don’t provide enough return (in whatever currency) to Alex and Rob to make it worthwhile. This will be one of the tests of the new format because if it doesn’t work for Alex and Rob, then however well it may work for others, it won’t work at all.
